Four Tips For Pet Influencers To Succeed in 2023

A new year is here and that means it’s time to plan and execute your 2023 strategy! We wanted to share our four tips for pet influencers in 2023.

Industry Numbers

The creator economy has grown exponentially. Since 2020, we have seen 165+ Million new creators. With more influencers than ever before, the influencer marketing industry is only going to continue growing in 2023. Globally, the influencer marketing industry was worth $16.4B in 2022—about an 18.1% increase from 2021.

Consumers have been preferring authentic content, and this is only becoming truer. Audiences truly prefer to see influencers promoting products they believe in and use. In fact, 83% of users were influenced to purchase products because of trending content.

Tips For Success

As seen in the economy and the above numbers, you may see differences in the industry from the past years. So, we want to give you these four for pet influencers to succeed in 2023..

1. Have a plan. A good idea is just that: an idea. But if you don’t know how to execute it, all of your hard work will be for nothing. Reach out to the Pets on Q team for assistance on your 2023 campaign plan.

2. Know your niche. If the market is saturated with influencers who are all trying to do the same thing as you, then you need to be different in some way so that consumers can find value in your product or service.

3. Think out your content to benefit your followers and make sure they feel like they’re getting something valuable out of their experience with you rather than just buying a product or service because it’s trendy at the moment.

4. Remember who your target audience really is! It’s easy to forget who you’re actually trying to connect with when you get caught up in trends or other influencers’ successes; however, if they aren’t interested in what you have to offer them then there’s no point in trying anyway!

Find & Work With Pet Influencers

Find & Work With Pet Influencers: As the use of social media has become the new normal, it has been increasingly difficult for brands to get noticed online. People are wary of brands, but they can be easily swayed through the influencers they love and trust. If you find building trust with your target audience to be a challenging task, it might be time to consider influencer marketing with pet influencers.

Many brands have turned to influencer marketing as a means to increase awareness of their products, boost sales, or grow their audience, or brand loyalty. Pet influencers can be a great way to win over your target audience—who doesn’t love a cute animal?

Hiring an influencer can seem like a daunting or downright impossible task. These tips will help you reach your marketing goals while simplifying the process of hiring animal talent.

Know Your Goals

Before you begin looking for animal talent to hire, you need to think about your goals. Your goals will affect how you settle on an influencer and what kind of content they will produce. Growing your following will have a different strategy than trying to raise awareness of your brand. Once you determine your goals, choose the best strategy for your unique goals and execute it thoroughly.

Turn Your Goals Into Parameters

After you figure out your goals, think about your audience. Knowing your audience and branding will help you to determine what influencer style will suit your needs. Is your audience females between 25 to 40 who go hiking with their pets and want healthy pet food? You would want to target dog influencers that have an outdoorsy aesthetic with an audience that fits your buyer.

Find The Right Animal Talent

Once you’ve decided on parameters for your animal talent search, you get to find the talent now. While this can be an overwhelming task, there are influencer platforms that exist to assist with the process. From finding animal talent to paying them, these platforms exist to streamline the process.

Determine what kind of animal talent you need. At Pets on Q, we categorize our animal talent into three groups:

1: Approved Influencers or creators

Approved Influencers have been vetted to ensure they have a quality audience of over 1,000 followers. We determine a quality audience by our algorithm to ensure that they have an authentic following.

Animal influencers come in all shapes and sizes—including their following! We have:

  • Nano-influencers: 10,000 followers or less
  • Micro-influencers: 10,000 to 100,000 followers
  • Mid-level influencers: 100,000 to 500,000 followers
  • Macro-influencers: 500,000 to 1 million followers
  • Mega-influencers: 1 million followers and over

2: Approved Set Animals

Approved set animals, or pet stars, have gone through temperament testing, submitted training documentation to our platform, or taken an in-person test. They are broken down into 4 categories: temperament approved, level 1, level 2 and level 3 for highly advanced set work.

3: Licensing content or User Generated Content (commonly referred to as UGC)

Licensing allows brands to work with animal talent to obtain content rights to share across their social media platforms. This can also be done within an influencer campaign or on its own.

You can view these animals in our animal talent network. We created this platform after having thousands of animals apply to work with us when Pet Stars came out. Our animal talent network connects brands and production companies with the best and more importantly pre vetted animal talent. In our network, you can use our influencer search tool, post casting calls, manage campaigns, and more to reach your target audience and campaign goals. Determine The Scope of Work

You know your target audience, goals for the campaign, and what kind of animal talent you want to work with. Now you need to decide the role that animal talent will play in your campaign. Whether it’s user-generated content or educational posts spread across multiple platforms, work with your influencer to plan content that feels authentic for your brand and their audience.

Book Animal Talent

Here comes the fun part! You get to start talking to animal talent. This can be reaching out directly and making an offer, or it can be sharing casting calls to invite the influencers to come to you.

Pets on Q’s booking platform allows you to go through our database of animal talent to find the right animal for your project. You will find accurately priced animal talent, analytical data, and be able to book talent. You can even post casting calls to invite potential talent to apply to your campaign.

Once you have booked your talent, you can get to work on achieving your marketing goals.

How To: View & Download TikTok Analytics

You finished up a campaign with a brand… now what? How do you evaluate your success? You could look at your follower count, your views, your likes on your own, but TikTok has something more helpful. TikTok analytics give you further insight into your growth, view time, and demographics.

Keep reading and we’ll give you a quick run through of what you should be looking at whether it’s to grow your account or reporting analytics to brands you have worked with.

How To Check TikTok Analytics?

On mobile

  1. Go to your profile
  2. Click the button on the top right
  3. Choose Creator Tools
  4. From there, choose Analytics

On Desktop

  1. Hover over your profile picture on the top right
  2. Select View Analytics

To download TikTok analytics, you need to do it on your desktop! To download your data, click Download Data when you’re on the Overview page.

Understanding TikTok Analytics

Once you get into your analytics dashboard, you’ll see four different sections: overview, content, followers, and live.

If you click Overview, you’ll get just that—an overview. It shows your video views, profile views, likes, comments, and shares. You can select different time periods, like the last 7 days, 28 days, 60 days, or a custom range.

This tab will give you some more information about the videos and content you’re sharing. Here, you’ll see the videos you posted in the last 7 days, and you can find more detailed analytics for each video.

If you click on a video, you can see the total time people spent watching your video, the average time watched, how many watched the full video, and where your video traffic is coming from. When you work with a brand, they will be interested in this information!

Knowing your audience is important to make sure your content is finding the right people. If you want to know how to grow your followers on TikTok, you need to know who is seeing your videos. Under the follower’s tab, there’s information about your total followers, growth rate, gender, and where your followers are from.

At the bottom of the page, there’s a graph that shows when your followers are most active. Here’s a tip: you will want to post your daily content before the highest points. If 8 p.m. is when your followers are most active, make your posting schedule reflect that!

If you use TikTok’s live feature, you’ll find information here about how many views you got, how long you spent on live, any new followers, and diamonds you may have received during your live.
